Most problems adding a client come down to the client already existing in Admiin. Admiin will not create a second copy of the same business, so an existing or archived record can block a new one. Here is how to work out which it is.
If you see an error when adding a client, the same business or ABN may already be in Admiin, either on your client list or linked to another firm. Search your clients for the name or ABN first. If it is already there, you do not need to add it again.
If you archived or removed a client and are now trying to add them back, the original record still exists behind the scenes, so adding a fresh one can error. Instead of adding again, find the archived client and restore it. That brings back the client with their history intact.
If the client saved but you cannot see them, try these:
Clear any search or filter on the client list, so nothing is hidden
Check you are viewing the right firm if you work across more than one
Refresh the page, as a new client can take a moment to appear
When you add a client you can choose whether to invite them to the client portal straight away. If you only want the client on your books for now, add them without sending an invite, and invite them later when you are ready.
If none of the above fixes it, contact our support team with the client name and, if you can, a screenshot of the error. We can find the record and sort out what is blocking it.
